Today I completed the final part (flash with sound or html) of the series with portraits from India.

Last days where busy, I however had this second slide show from our India trip beginning 2008 in the pipeline.

Today I had a few minutes to complete it and put it online.

This afternoon I found some time and produced a first slide show of portraits from our last trip in India.

When I take photographs of people, normally it are portraits where the person knows very well that I take a photographs. Sometimes however the situation is that nice that I can't resist to press the button.

These men on the beach of Puducherry (India) where standing there and this was exactly such a situation for a candid "street" shot.

As usual, I asked this man before take a portrait. His expression did not change after seeing the camera, a perfect model.

I am leaving for a short trip to Boston, till now I did not decide which camera to take.. maybe... I will bring back some photographs from the states.

I am busy these days preparing two expositions of portraits, that is a new experience taking more time as expected since my personal expectations of printing output, matting and framing are a unexplored area.

Nevertheless, one more portrait from India.

He wanted to be on the photograph but when the moment came he turned to be little insecure. After I showed the result, a smile!

On a market we met this man, selling potatoes:

...we met these four happy men in the temple. They really wanted their photograph to be taken.

I am leaving for a short trip to Barcelona, I took a camera and just a 50mm lens and a self assignment to make at least some more European portraits. Results, next week!

This Indian man really liked to be photographed by me.

I am busy these days with my regular work, I found some time to get this portrait from the India queue...

to avoid smile direct in the camera I tried to let the people looking at something which sometimes made portraits somewhat more natural.

I asked this man to take his portrait, main idea was to capture a portrait. However I here managed to catch some impression of the street where we met the man and the atmosphere there.

Just a happy smile I got from this boy.

I asked the man in front to take a portrait. First of all he was happy to be on my picture but also he just kept looking natural.

I asked my self: "why is it so easy to get contact with people from outside Europe and take a photograph?"

People in India seems to be relaxed and enjoyed to be photographed, the same applied to people I photographed in Mali (Africa). When you ask in Europe you get a "NO" or if yes people seem to change completely.

I did not found yet the way to take portraits on the street asking European people, however I will find out!

This boy had such an intense expression, I could not resist to ask to take a portrait and pressed the button.

Older men are getting nice white hair. At least I found it nice because it can make such a wonderful contrast on black and white portraits. You see a glimpse of that in this photograph and more in the portraits from last days.
